Chartered Accountant
PTR is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a Partner of JSR, Cochin. He ventured into professional practice after successful employment stints with KPMG, India. He is specialized in Indian Goods and Service Tax Law and heads the GST wing of the firm’s practice.
- He is qualified both as a Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary and has also completed his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a 1st Rank from the University of Calicut.
- He was also awarded a scholarship by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) throughout his Chartered Accountancy course for his merit in academics.
- He has handled training sessions for the GST departmental officials on various topics on GST.
- He is a regular speaker at the Southern India Regional Council of the Institute of Charted Accountants of India (ICAI) on the GST Law & Practice. He has handled more than 100 sessions (Topic wise) at various branches of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India like Chennai, Hyderabad, Uduppi, Hubli, Trichy, Ernakulam, etc and also in their webinar’s.
- He is a popular speaker at workshops organized by various Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises associations in India on Indian GST Law.
- He is a regular faculty at the ‘Certification Course on GST’ conducted by the Indirect Tax Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), New Delhi.
- He has conducted various customized corporate trainings on GST.
- He has trained more than 10,000 Chartered Accountants, Government Officials, other professionals & public at large on the GST Law & Practice.
- He is currently advising some of the big multinational conglomerates in India having annual turnover exceeding INR 50,000 Crores.
- He is advising economic wings of some of the top Central Government bodies on GST related matters for the benefit of the public at large.
- Interpretation of the GST statute is his area of interest. He has issued expert opinions on some tricky provisions of GST.
- His close professional association with some of the leading Senior Advocates practicing at the Supreme Court of Indian and various High Courts helps him to demystify clients/clarification seekers on various multifaceted and complicated interpretation issues.
- He has recently contributed to the official GST publication of the Indirect Tax Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), New Delhi at the invitation of the committee.
- He was a co-opted member of the Information Technology and Digital Transformation Committee of Southern India Regional Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
