JSR Initiatives

The firm has taken several initiatives in view of the ever-changing legal and business environment. Improving the efficiency and efficacy of personnel is of paramount importance. Our commitment to society has encouraged us to develop these. All JSRians jointly drive the initiatives from the front.

In India, the legal and regulatory environments are rapidly changing. This initiative of JSR is helping all JSRians cope with the knowledge-updation challenge. It ensures that all JSRians are well equipped with updated knowledge for their performance and for better, competitive client service. Trainings are conducted every week at the JSR office. Student seminars are encouraged.

"Preserve our trees".

A green initiative with a commitment to the environment by preserving trees. JSR is striving to move into an electronic environment and discouraging printouts to the extent possible, which has helped us be clean, productive and efficient and gain an expert hand on digital technology, making our office an e-office. We are also establishing a resourceful e-library accessible to all JSRians.

"Society needs our time, not money".

With a commitment to society through social services, JSRians show social commitment by participating in many social activities. Our partner Mr. P. T. Govindarajan is a trustee in Cancer Alleviation Foundation, a trust providing free medical services for poor and needy cancer patients. He is also a trustee in a Rotary Charitable Trust, which currently aims to construct a school building for poor and needy children for their education.

A virtual tool adopted by JSR. It works through an app that inter-connects partners/managers and articled assistants. It is used to record attendance, the bouquet of work allotted to each assistant, progress at the end of each day, client billing and many other routine functions of the CA office. It is a one-stop solution that works as Practice Management Software and as a unique tool for Office Management. In today's fast-paced life, time is precious; ERPCA helps monitor and complete work within a defined time frame and helps efficiently manage articled assistants, employees and clients.

The firm quickly adopted new technologies that save time, costs and efforts, making operations more efficient while keeping people safe.

In mid-2019 we invested in cloud computing, mainly to safeguard clients' data with servers kept in-house and backed up periodically. The cloud-based data also provided remote accessibility as a perk.

When Covid-19 struck and lockdowns were announced, many offices were dumbfounded; knowing how to work without physically going to the office, we were able to move to the new norm of WFH seamlessly, with no sweat at all since, with improved efficiency and the much-needed safety of the home.

Having adopted the WFH culture, all client meetings went virtual. We also introduced student seminars and student training on virtual tools, using platforms like Google Meet, where we could participate, present PPT slides, classify work and do everything as efficiently as in personal mode. Students' training in the virtual mode has been much more efficient, fruitful and rewarding.

Cloud transformation

Under the new WFH norm, client discussions, conduct of statutory audits/tax audits/GST audits/TP audits, etc., including sign-off meetings with clients with the presentation of financials, tax computations and our PAR (performance analysis) report—using bar and pie charts generated by JSR and presented annually at the sign-off meeting—appreciated greatly by clients invariably as they better understand how they have done, could all be conducted virtually during the period.

Our final audit report and conference call on any professional parameter, even in the middle of the WFH mode, was achieved—digital transformation even earlier. We have completed audit returns, returns filing and payroll compliance of clients well before time, all in the WFH model. Our clients, too, appreciate that their joy and official details received by cloud during these assignments efficiently. The cloud servers have undoubtedly helped not only in Covid-19 survival but also our rejuvenation and metamorphosis as a firm fully operating in the virtual space.

We are in the process of adopting more such remote work platforms to improve work efficiency and accuracy.
